Vaison the Roman is a part of impossible to circumvent sites of High Vaucluse.

On the right bank are two districts, the site of the ancient(former) Roman colony and Vaison's contemporary part. Archaeological searches(excavations) revealed immense and luxurious gallo-Roman houses in the very elaborated internal structure. They were decorated with grounds in mosaic, with marble marquetry, statues, ponds, atriums and thermes deprived....

The set(group) illustrates the daily life of there are two millenniums.

On the left bank, leaned in a rocky spur, extends the High City, previous history of which go back up(raise) to the XIII°SIÈCLE. At the Means - age, the villagers settled down in height, at feet of the castle to protect itself from plunders and invasions.
