Indeed, the first inhabitants of this area were the Ligurians, some eight hundred years before our era. They knew copper and bronzes. The breeding of the herds was their great occupation because the broken relief and a ground poor bus rocky did not allow a prosperous agriculture. Mixed with the Celts, our Ligurians fell under the domination from Eguituris, robust and nimble mountain dwellers, liking over all hunting and the combat. During several decades, they fight against the Romans but are overcome by the Auguste emperor. The area becomes a Roman province and traces raised in the village confirm this established fact.

Templiers even made pay the religious services then celebrated in the Our-Lady-Holy-Marie vault built with the twelfth century under the aegis of the abbey of Lérins.

In addition to the natural bad weather ransacking the cultures of the valley of the VAr at the quatorzième century, the villagers must undergo the atrocities of the Black Death which decimates the population, leaving a hundred people in life.

The village follows the history of the house of Beuil and, consequently, becomes property of the house of Savoy into 1388 before being that of the States sardes later.

During the eighteenth century, the count de Beuil having been carried out, his castles flarings and its goods confiscated, the village is pledged to various lords whose last were the counts Claretti. During these successive occupations, wars, plunderings and fires multiply.

In 1793, Touët becomes French but becomes again sarde in 1814. It does not remain any more that forty inhabitants and misery is large. One period of stagnation follows which exaspère their bitterness. In 1860, Touëtois vote unanimously for the annexation in France.

The Desired abbot Niel, born in 1814 in Touët where his/her father followed the occupation of notary and the function of mayor under the Consulate, worked in an intensive way for fastening in France.
