Old village strengthened with 13th century, there remain some ruins and a church on the rock top which dominates levillage in north, later called the “attic with corn” of the high valley of the VAr. Sauze is today a very small mountain village, insulated in a pastoral site and still cultivated by some irreducible peasants!
The small narrow and sinuous road which climbs in the middle of the pines and of the oaks (where one crosses with difficulty with two cars, it is advisable to hoot) will lead you until the center of the village,
On the place, a beautiful church of gray and pink stones, to the roof of shingles, côtoie the old houses with wrought iron or wood balcony, the covered laundrette and its large fountain going back to 1900.Les faded frontages, the stones of character and the wood aged by snow and the sun give to Sauze any sound charms.

An easy excursion (3 hours) which makes the turn of the hamlets of Sauze - Sauze the Old man, Selves, Mills, and Chana Pastoun - you will make discover the old houses built out of local materials - stones, plaster resulting from the gypsum, beams and boarding of larch - reflection of a formerly autarkical life: they comprise a whole a cattle shed at the ground floor, the room common to the first and above the rooms sobrement served by a rustic staircase, finally the attic all in top.
