Located in sea front, along the Blue Coast, with a pretty fishing port, Sausset the Pines is a charming village surrounded by pine forests and garrigues which smells good, to only one forty km Marseilles.
Between sea and pine forest, with an exceptional natural site, Sausset the Pines will allure you with his charming port overhung by a castle of the XIX° (Castle Charles Roux), its small malls, its coffee terraces open on the port, its brisk market and its authentic environment, far from the spangles of the Riviera.
Formerly small hamlet of fishermen of hardly 200 inhabitants, Sausset became with the wire of the year a small family seaside resort. Gradually, the residences multiply and the hills placed vis-a-vis the port are invested by large real programs… On the cornice, posed vis-a-vis the sea, the beautiful residences are held under the shades of the pine forest with the shelters of the inquisitive eyes.
Stopover between Cape Crowns in the West and Cape Méjean in the East, the fishing port and pleasure of Sausset (500 places) shelters at the same time the sailing ships and the "pointed ones" of the fishermen. Faithful to its tradition, Sausset is a high place of fishing, that it is sporting with large with fishing with tuna in open sea, or traditional fishes cotière for fish of rock of it. Sausset the Pines is stretched along the sea in a succession of small splits, white pebble beaches and tiny creeks. Arranged on 5 km, the walk of the cornice (path of littoral GR51) is very easy access and offers superb panoramas to you on bay of Marseilles and its islands.
Water of bathe is clear here and allows practically all the water sports. The frequent winds, (the Mistral or Tramontana will often accompany you) will make the joy of the surfers and yachtmen.
Sausset belongs to the Marine Park of the Blue Coast, the plungers will be able to discover the underwater funds and artificial reefs arranged with broad of Sausset. Amateurs of idleness and sun baths will find also their happiness on the pebble beaches, (not to forget its mattress of bath) or small quiet split with the variation.
In the neighbourhoods of Sausset, in the hills and the scrubland, you will be able to also make the beautiful ones stroll in the medium of the pine forests which dominate the sea. The paths are marked out and practicable with foot, en.vélo or with horse. You will cross a superb, preserved and odorous nature.
