VIRTUAL TOUR 360° COMING SOON
This small village with the picturesque lanes (drailles) blottit in a place already attended of the time of the Romans. It has, with the wire of time and the swords, known of the sometimes tragic adventures until being allocated to king de France in 1713: aesthetic and historical reasons to stroll in the quickly tamed maze of this village, without counting the freshness of the walls, alleviating after one day to roast on the less civilized rocks of cliffs.
Blotti with the foot of rock teeth, impressive vertical cliffs and located on the "road of princes d' Orange", Orpierre is a true village of the South, with its placette shaded of plane trees and limes, occupied by bowls players nonchalants, on whom throne a pretty church with round apse.
In the history, Orpierre was successively stronghold from the Dauphine, Burgundian, Germanic and French (in 1713): to stroll in its fresh lanes, paved and narrow (to avoid the stiletto heels!), you will seem very pleasant because you will not fail to admire the remainders of a very beautiful inheritance which goes back to the 16th century…
Even if it is sometimes only about one Renaissance frontage giving on the vacuum: an imposing fountain, a prison seigneuriale, a furnace "barral" where "each one came to make cook its bread, realising taxes of fournages", of old doors of beautiful proportions (17th century), of many voutés porches and roofed passageways… Without forgetting the house of the Trawl-net-Arlay (1334-1530)
By borrowing Main street quite simply, then while crossing the "district of the Churls", you will go on an unforgettable journey in time…
And even of in top, Orpierre ravit the eye, spreading out its Roman tiled roofs with, behind plan, the vertiginous rock teeth. Orpierre is impossible to circumvent for the in love ones with old stones!
Without the climbing and sporting tourism, undoubtedly this commune it was intended to become a rural quasi-desert and it keeps this relative insulation for dépayser the tourists in this Far-West of Buech. Orpierre revives from now on several lodgings, of a bar calm and shaded, of another more "fun" but still simple where the beer post-climbs revives the désséchées throats and Marseilles imagination ("I made a way in 7a", "and your mother it fits of the 2!", usual tricks). Even a store of climbing is found (that repairs, and, for the tears of the emplettes, that makes it possible to be relieved). A camp-site collects disinherited or the improvident ones of the reservations, a bakery not very far from the church provides a good daily bread. Even the place of the village becomes animated the evening: players of game of bowls come to tease the stopper with the gleam of the reverberators and the admiring sunstrokes of the tourists
Orpierre is a small charming village in a beautiful valley of Buech.
Since about fifteen years the common one misée on the climbing and thus developed.
