From the XII ° century the life of the village was bound(connected) to the river of Durance which lines its territory. Formerly Mirabeau controlled the passage of Durance by a tub in the entrance(entry) of the parade of Canteperdrix. She(it) allowed also to irrigate the cultivated plains and contributed so to the development of the village.
Today, you will there be able to cool pleasantly during the days of summery heights of summer if the water is too cold, you will be able to make a magnificent walk along the river.
Mirabeau is dominated with a castle deprived of medieval aspect which overhangs the village.
Situated in the crossroads of three departments, the Alps of High Provence, Mouths of the Rhone and the Var, Mirabeau holds peacefully in the middle of the landscapes of hills and small valleys of the regional Natural reserve of Luberon
