This charming village of Provence offers a panoramic sight on the Riviera of Nice to Saint-Tropez. It is located in edge of the department of the Alps Maritimes, in the heart of the superb solid mass of Estérel to only a few kilometers of the sea.
The solid mass of Estérel which surrounds the Adrets is covered with forests of pines, cork oaks and a dense vegetation to the multiple Mediterranean gasolines: pink and white heathers, brooms, cistuses, genévriers…
Superb walks are to be made through its paths, some will guide you with the accesses of the lakes of Avellan and St Cassien. These two lakes will be a true small paradise for the fishermen. St Cassien lays out in addition to small beaches arranged for the bathe like guinguettes and pedal boats.
Formerly, Estérel was perceived like a wild solid mass and had during very a long time bad reputation so much the number of attack of diligence was numerous. It was indeed the place of predilection of the band of famous "the Gaspard de Besse" (Robin of the Wood local), which détroussait the travellers of the road of Italy, then redistributed the spoils with the poor and were going then to hide in the forest of Estérel.
Today, this time is completed, the village of the Adrets enjoys its soft and peaceful atmosphere of Provence. The old relay of diligence "the Inn of the Adrets" still exists and always accomodates visitors and travellers… in all quietude.
The Adrets of Estérel are a site really splendid, flooded of sun and surrounded by exceptional landscapes. You will be able to appreciate there the peace of a small village while benefitting from the nautical pleasures of the Riviera (if you have a car)…
