Old naval port, and Roman city, Fréjus overhangs the alluvial flat rich person who separate Estérel
Solid mass of Maures. With middle distance between Cannes and St Tropez,

this town of art and culture constituted a rich person historical and architectural inheritance. And this since the presence of the Roman legions after the foundation of the city in 49 per Jules César in person, it was called then Forum Julii (the market of Jules), to the troops of the Navy still accomodated today in Fréjus.

The city is strewn with monuments among which appear one of largest the amphitheatre of Gaule (Ier or IIème), the Roman Theatre, the gilded door (vestige of the thermal baths of IIIème), the lantern of Auguste (vestige of the old port romain), the door of Gaules or the aqueduct which brought water of Siagnole (of Mons!)sur a course of 40 km, the Cocteau vault (conceived by J Cocteau in 1961 and finished by E Dermit in 1965).

Frejus is also a balneal city where the sea finds its place in the heart of the city with the construction of Port-Frejus, on the district of Frejus-Beach partially destroyed in 1959 by water of the dam Malpasset after its rupture.

The small port of St Aygulf gives access the path of the littoral and to discover the creeks and fine sand the beaches of this pleasant hamlet of Frejus.
