Entrevaux belongs to the villages of High-Provence which knew to keep seal and character. The site received the label of the 1.000 villages besides more beautiful villages of France.
The medieval city of Entrevaux is built on a rocky outcrop, with with its feet the river of the VAr which surrounds its fortifications.
Entrevaux was strengthened by Vauban on the order of Louis XIV in 1690, the access to the citadel is ensured in an original way thanks to 9 slopes in zigzag.

The village keeps of a its glorious last exceptional inheritance to which also its civil architecture testifies. Narrow houses and high, small places and old fountains… all this in the medium of the splendid landscapes, olive groves and gardens in terraces!
