This old village of railwaymen was in the the fabulous time of traction with vapor the only deposit between Nice and Marseilles. It counted 500 railwaymen then working at the village for a hundred engines. There remains one about it (of type 1893), proudly exposed to the entry of the village.
Carnoules is today villages the provençaux one, it is more one crossing point which of tourist holiday. The village, which was the theatre of a battle between Henri VI and the Duke of Savoy in 1592, preserves many traces of its past.
