Brignoles is located in a valley, is sprinkled by many sources and crossed by the Caramy river, in the center of the department of the VAr, about equal distance from Draguignan, Aix-en-Provence, Marseilles and Toulon.

It is placed along the antique sees Aurélienne, which made a diligent city from time immemorial of it, favourable with trade.

Brignoles is since 1976 a sub-prefecture which counts 13326 inhabitants

A sedentary population was installed here 4000 years ago. The city becomes at the XIII 2nd century a girdled significant borough of ramparts, possession of the Counts de Provence since 1222.

Posed on Caramy, Brignoles, capital of the Center-VAr is the crossroads of the neighbouring villages (administrative, commercial, school).

The counts of Provence founded their palate in XIIème there. One finds there today still a museum with a sarcophagus of IIIème, Christian furnace bridges of the IV and VIèmes. The old town of Brignoles is to be visited through two courses: circuit of the ramparts and circuit intramural… Old stones, places, turns and old doors give to the city its authentic character.

The Downtown area (located not far from the Brignoles old man) presents an animated commercial zone, do not miss the market of Saturday morning.

Around the city, the slopes of vines, with a broad provençaux type of vine pallet, represent one of the most famous resources of the area.
