With semi way between the sea Méditérannée and the High tops of Mercantour, Breil on Roya is located at the crossroads of the principal railway and road transportation routes.

In edge of an artificial lake, surrounded by olive-trees, its 2069 inhabitants eparpillent themselves in a universe of greenery where all the sports of full nature are represented: excursion, clue, canoe kayak, rafting, VTT…

A particular effort is made to guide the meanders of the last one: old lanes, classified or registered churches, turn of guêt… This ECRIN of nature accomodates also many sporting events (duatlon, raid, trail…) and cultural (folk concert, exposure, festivals.).

Located at the door of the National park of Mercantour and at orée of the Valley of the Wonders, Breil On Roya profits from lenient temperatures and relatively soft off seasons thanks to a maritime influence brought by the winds of the Golf of Genoa.

Known as the "Country of the Olive-trees" with a significant artisanal activity, Breil is an animated village, offering many festivities of which celebrates it "has Staccada" (every 4 years), historical reconstitution which commemorates the abolition of the right of cuissage.

A circuit through the village is proposed to you by the tourist bureau during which provide with walking shoes, you will discover beautiful houses with arcades and singular frontages of horn-the eye. The treasures of passed of the city will not have any more secrecies for you: medieval bridge, turn of the ramparts, laundrette old, turrets of guard, houses medieval, oratorical, communal furnaces....

The river of Roya divides into two the territory of the commune and thus gives a charm particular to its bridges which span it and its quays bordered of plane trees. It also offers a broad range of appreciated strong nautical activities the summer!
