Under a sky (almost) always blue, Aiguilles offers to the glances its vain houses with the colours sharp, reds or blue, capped roofs of shingles, its beautiful fountains in the medium of which statues trônent, its sundials.The curious ones will notice an often original architecture, for a village of mountain, because inspired by South America: as in Barcelonnette (see at this city), many inhabitants there emigrated, - following the fire of 1829 - and were allocated to the country, nouveau riches, to build there these houses, middle-class women as much as whimsical.
As the Castle testifies some to Auche, built at the end of the 19th century by the Challe family of return of South America, and which shelters the school of the village today. Other curiosities: the Large Hotel (1910) and the Eiffel House, very out of iron and signed by engineer Duclos, member of the cabinet of Gustave Eiffel.
Geographical and commercial C?ur of Queyras, Aiguilles is in winter a station-village very family, where the amateur of authenticity will be filled: it will be able to make excursions in ski touring on forest roads, beam of marvellous forests of larches where roe-deers, chamois, moufflons and ibexes shelter.
